ABOUT TERESA REYNOLDS
Teresa Reynolds was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas State.
Shortly thereafter, she relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she began a career as a fashion model.
Due to her photogenic appearance and ease in front of the camera, she became a photographer’s favorite,
eventually appearing in more than 150 print ads for local and national clients, among them the Andrew Jergens Co.,
Procter & Gamble, Cintas Corporation, Elder Beerman Stores, LS Ayres, Drackett Co., Lazarus Department
Stores and Marshall Fields.
Her modeling work offered her a first-hand acquaintance with a range of makeup and hair stylists whose technical and artistic skills varied widely. This led her to recognize the critical need and lucrative opportunity for a career-oriented and formally educated makeup artist schooled and practiced in the latest techniques and materials.
She applied to and was accepted by the prestigious Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts in Hollywood, where she completed the full course of training with the Academy Award-winning Westmore family of film makeup artists. There she learned from the industry masters not only the techniques and materials necessary to prepare clients’ appearance for the motion picture and video camera, including glamour, runway, prostheses and special effects, but also the psychological skills necessary for dealing with the pressures of demanding directors, photographers, and celebrity clients.
Soon afterwards, she prepared herself for a life on the soundstage by completing coursework and passing state exams to earn Certification from the State of Ohio with licenses in Hair Styling, Cosmetology, Barbering, and Manicure.
She was chosen by Frank Toskan, founder of the revolutionary MAC Cosmetics Company, as one of that firm’s original fourteen MAC Technical Artists, and spent years with the company demonstrating its renowned product line. In 1992, she was personal makeup artist to Paul and Linda McCartney on their national tour. Her celebrity client roster ranges from actors Cheryl Ladd to Jason Priestly, Miss USA Courtney Gibbs to Robin Givens, entertainers The Smothers Brothers to dancer Gregory Hines, and countless more.
She is not only a sought-after makeup artist, but is now creating a week-long Professional Film & Theatrical Makeup Course in Northern California designed to share the accumulated wisdom of her career with young, aspiring makeup artists.
